He was possibly killed whilst flying Spitfire, X4647 of No 58 OTU, which flew into Ben Ledi on a ferry flight from Northolt to Grangemouth.  He is buried in Ford Park Cemetery. (Formerly Plymouth Old Cemetery.) (Pennycomequick)
