He was possibly undertaking the Officers' Aeronautical Engineering course at RAF Henlow when he was transferred to the RAF Hospital, Halton with a severe attack of pleurisy.  Three after being admitted he was found on the ground underneath the window of his ward, dying later that night from his injuries.
