The aircraft was flying south in thick sea fog when it crashed into the sea off Hartlepool, County Durham. Parts of the aircraft including the wheels were found next day by a fishing boat and pieces of wood from the aircraft were found washed ashore at North Sands at the mouth of the River Tees. |
