He was flying a Hawker Fury I (K2044 or K2047) of No 1 Sqn when he collided with another aircraft of the same unit during flight attack training.  The pilot of K2044 managed to abandon the aircraft but was nevertheless killed, whilst the pilot of K2047 was killed in the collision.  He is buried in Tangmere (St Andrew) Churchyard.

Sqd. Ldr. S. B. Collett, who was killed in an air accident at Hendon whilst flying as the observer to Fg Off Robert Lea in Wapiti, xxxxx of No 600 Sqn.  The aircraft suffered an engine failure on take off and Lea turned back to the airfield, but stalled the aircraft and crashed.  Sqn Ldr Collett was knocked unconscious and died in the subsequent fire.

PERRY-KEENE, THOMAS HENRY

He was seriously injured whilst flying Fairey IIIF, S1860 of RAF Hal Far Station Flt on 17 Jul 1934.  He made a heavy landing, causing the undercarriage to break, the aircraft veered off the runway, hit a flare and burst into flames.  He died of his injuries four days later.  His crew member, LAC L C Tite was only slightly injured.  He is buried in Malta (Capuccini) Naval Cemetery.

He was climbing aboard Hawker Osprey, K3630 of No 406 Flt, which being readied for catapulting from HMS Emerald, when he was struck by the propeller and seriously injured, dying later that day from his wounds.  He is buried in Calcutta (Bhowanipore) Cemetery.
