He was the observer to Lt P M Payson in A2131 of No 55 Sqn on a raid against railway targets in Luxembourg.  After dropping their bombs, they were attacked by enemy fighters and Lee was killed in the initial attack.  His pilot placed his aircraft underneath another for protection and managed to get back to the airfield.  He is buried in Charmes Military Cemetery, Essegney.

He was the pilot of DH4, A7466 of No 55 Sqn on a raid against Treves. Over the target the formation was attacked by enemy fighters and in the rear position Legge took much of the punishment, being seen to leave the formation under control.  They were pursued by two fighters and crashed in flames, both men being killed.  He is buried in Cologne Southern Cemetery.
