He was killed whilst flying in SE5A, C8829 of No 30 Training Depot Station, which failed to recover from a spin after stalling in the climb and is buried in South Sheilds (Harton) Cemetery.

He was killed in action whilst flying Camel, D1850 of No 73 Sqn, which was last seen near Vielle Chapelle and is commemorated on the Arras Flying Services Memorial.

He died from injuries sustained whilst flying RE8, E95 of No 52 Training Sqn, which spun into the ground after stalling in a turn and is buried in Sheffield (City Road) Cemetery.
