He was serving as an Instrument Repairer at the Northern Area Repair Depot and died in the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield from pneumonia, he is buried in Thornaby-on-Tees Cemetery.

JACKSON, HUGH ARTHUR BRUCE

He was the observer to Lt E W Mundy in DH9, C6260 of No 104 Sqn on a raid to Karlsruhe.  They were attacked by enemy fighters on the return journey and Mundy was hit in the arm and Jackson was shot through the stomach.  Mundy managed to return to their airfield and he recovered from his wounds but Jackson had died.  He is buried in Charmes Military Cemetery, Essegney.

JACKSON, WILFRED EDMUND

He was observer to Lt J Wrighton in DH9, D3211 of No 104 Sqn on a raid against railway targets at Metz Sablon.  After dropping their bombs, they were attacked by enemy fighters and Jackson was wounded.  Wrighton managed to get his damaged aircraft back to base, but 2 Lt Jackson died of his wounds.  He is buried in Charmes Military Cemetery, Essegney.

He was the observer to 2 Lt R I A Hickes in DH4, D8396 of No 55 Sqn taking part in a raid against railway sidings at Conflans.  Having dropped their bombs, the formation was attacked by enemy fighters and Hickes and Jones were seen going down under control, but presumably, they were killed by the fighters or in the ensuing crash.  He is buried in Latour-en-Woevre Communal Cemetery.
