29 Aug 1914:         Appointed to a Commission in the RFC Special Reserve.

29 Aug 1914:         Officer i/c Mechanical Transport, RFC. (graded as a Flight Commander)

17 Feb 1915:          Flight Commander, No ? Sqn RFC.  

 1 Sep 1915:           RFC Special Reserve on assumption of staff duties?

1 Jan 1916?:           Squadron Commander RFC

27 Mar 1916:         Deputy Assistant Director of Aircraft Equipment

14 Dec 1916:          Assistant Director of Aircraft Equipment?, War Office

31 Aug 1917:          Director of Aircraft Acceptance.

18 Feb 1918:          Director of Parks and Depots.

 

His RFC/RAF career was very short, rising from 2nd Lieutenant to Brigadier-General in the course of WW1.  Involved in the Motor industry from 1905, he raced at Brooklands and having gained RAeC Certificate No 74 on 2 May 1911, he took part in the Circuit of Britain Air Race.  After WW1, he was Chairman of Chrysler Motors and Dodge Brothers (Britain).  He died after an operation at the age of 44.
