HQ No 247 Group Personnel, locations and units

This Group was formed on 1 October 1943 at Liverpool as No 247 (General Reconnaissance) Group within Coastal Command, embarking on HMT Franconia on 8 October for the journey to the Azores.

It was initially located at Angra on Terceira Island before moving to Lagens  on 4 December 1943.
