2 Jan	AC1	TONKIN, THOMAS ALFRED (363520); AGE: 22	He was serving as a Turner on HMS Furious when he died in the Military Hospital, Netley from haemoptysis.
3 Jan	LAC	BELLAMY, GEORGE	A Motor-cyclist, he had recently returned from India and as found dead in the Union Jack Club after committing suicide.
20 Jan	Fg Off	CAYLEY, EDWARD GORDON	He was serving as an Armament Officer with No 19 Sqn and was killed whilst flying DH.60 Moth G-EBPS which crashed at Duxford.
26 Jan	Flt Lt	WALSH, JOHN JOSEPH RAFO	He was found dead in a room in a hotel in Buchanan Street, Glasgow.
30 Jan	Fg Off	INGLE, GEOFFREY, HUGH CONNINGSBY RAFO	He was killed whilst flying Fairey IIID, N9759 of the Armament and Gunnery School, which crashed at Eastchurch. His crewmen, LAC F N Howick and AC2 G H Johnson were also killed.
30 Jan	LAC	HOWICK, FRANK NELSON	A Fitter (Aero Engine), he was killed whilst flying as a crewman in Fairey IIID, N9759 of the Armament and Gunnery School, piloted by Fg Off G H C Ingle RAFO, who was also killed, when it crashed at Eastchurch. The other crewman, AC2 G H Johnson was also killed.
30 Jan	AC2	JOHNSON, GEORGE HENRY	He was serving as an Aircrafthand with the Coast Defence Training Flight when he was killed whilst flying as a crewman in Fairey IIID, N9759 of the Armament and Gunnery School, piloted by Fg Off G H C Ingle RAFO, who was also killed, when it crashed at Eastchurch. The other crewman, LAC F N Howick was also killed.
6 Feb	Fg Off	CECIL, RICHARD FRANCIS BAIN (Lt RN)	He was killed in a flying accident in Fairey IIID, S1023 of HMS Argus whilst towing a drogue target. His aircraft hit an air pocket and dived into the Gibraltar Bay. His crew member, Lt H A J Grant was seriously injured and later died.
13 Feb	Flt Lt	COURTNEY, REGINALD ALOYSIUS MBE	He was serving at HQ No 23 Group on Signals duties when he died, cause unknown, in the RAF Hospital, Cranwell.
16 Feb	LAC	PRUNTY, JOHN	Wireless Operator, he died from injuries sustained two days earlier after being hit by the propeller of DH9A, J8192 of No 30 Sqn during start up and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
18 Feb	Sgt	PEARCE, JOHN WILLIAM	He was killed whilst flying Siskin IIIA, J9319 of No 25 Sqn, which crashed at Lagham Manor, South Godstone after being overcome by fumes.
28 Feb	Flt Lt	BUCKNALL, GEORGE ANTHONY FIELDING	He was killed whilst flying an unidentified Siskin IIIA of No 19 Sqn when it dived into the ground at Duxford following a spin during aerobatics. He is buried in Whittlesford (SS Mary and Andrew) Churchyard.
1 Mar	Fg Off	SEALY-ALLIN, PATRICK NELSON	He was killed whilst flying Gamecock I, J8094 of No 23 Sqn which collided with J8415 of the same unit near Kenley at 1,800 ft.
3 Mar	AC1	KNIGHT, JAMES RICHARD	He was serving as a Wireless Operator/Mechanic with No 84 Sqn and was killed in action whilst flying in an unidentified Wapiti during an engagement with Wahibi raiders and is buried in Basra (Makina) RAF Cemetery.
9 Mar	Fg Off	PEACEY, ARTHUR JOHN RAFO	A member of the Nottingham Aero Club he was flying DH.60X Moth, G-AABA which disappeared on a short flight, the wreckage being found by the German steamer 'Margot' 90 miles ESE of Hull.
11 Mar	Cpl	SHRUBSOLE, WILLIAM DAVID	He was serving as Armoured Car Crew with No 2 Armoured Car Company and was killed in a motor accident, he is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery.
16 Mar	AC1	TAYLOR, A N	He was serving at RAF Duxford and was killed in a motor cycle accident at Great Amwell, Hertfordshire, he is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery.
18 Mar	Fg Off	BURNETT, YVON WILLIAM	He was killed whilst flying Fairey IIIF, SR1191 of No 47 Sqn, which crashed at Gwelo in Southern Rhodesia. His crewman, Sgt C Turner was also killed.
18 Mar	Sgt	TURNER, THOMAS CONDY	A Fitter (Aero Engine), he was killed whilst flying as the crewman in Fairey IIIF, SR1191 of No 47 Sqn, which crashed at Gwelo in Southern Rhodesia. The pilot, Fg Off Y W Burnett was also killed.
23 Mar	Fg Off	MOON, FRANCIS JACK	He died at the RAF Hospital in Aden from heart failure secondary to typhoid fever whilst serving with No 8 Sqn and is buried in Maala Cemetery.
29 Mar	Cpl	PARKER, REGINALD JAMES (345420)	He was serving as an Aircrafthand with No 84 Sqn, when he drowned in the River Tigris and is buried in Basra (Makina) RAF Cemetery.
29 Mar	A/A	WOOD, WILLIAM TURNBULL (562940)	He was serving with No 2 Apprentice Wing and died in the RAF Hospital, Halton.
2 Apr	Cpl	DONALD, JOHN	He was serving as a Fitter/Driver (Petrol) with HQ, Armoured Car Wing and died in the RAF General Hospital from suspected anthrax, he is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
12 Apr	Plt Off	GIBBS, HUGH WASHBOURNE	A member of No 16 Sqn, he died from injuries sustained in a motor cycle accident.
17 Apr	Plt Off	IONS, EUSTACE	He died in hospital at Poole following an operation.
2 May	Plt Off	MILNER, LIONEL TREADWAY (2 Lt, KOYLI, TA)	He was killed whilst flying in Atlas TM, J9470 of No 3 FTS, which spun in near Grantham
2 May	Sgt	WILLIAM, GEOFFREY LESLIE	He died from injuries sustained whilst flying Atlas TM, J9470 of No 3 FTS, which spun in near Grantham
3 May	AC1	MASON, RICHARD FREDERICK	A Fitter (Aero Engine), he was killed at South Mimms whilst flying in Vickers Venture, J7280 of the Home Aircraft Depot, when he was thrown out of the aircraft whilst low flying. The pilot, Fg Off Denys Stanley Thomas was unhurt but was cashiered for being drunk.
10 May	Plt Off	JACKSON, MALCOLM MENZIES	He was killed whilst flying Avro 504N, J8727 of No 1 FTS, which crashed in a forced landing near Beaches Barn, Netheravon and catching fire. He is buried in Netheravon (All Saints) Churchyard.
13 May	AC1	WALLIS JAMES ARTHUR GEORGE	A Fitter (Aero Engine), he was killed whilst flying in Fairey IIIF, S1304 of No 440 Flt when it bounced on landing on the deck of HMS Hermes, went over the side and sank in the sea off Hong Kong. The other crew members, Lt J E Fenton RN and AC1 F T Harding were unhurt.
15 May	A/A	MARSHALL, LIONEL DUNDAS (560347); age: 18	He died in the RN Hospital, Chatham from cardiac disease, rheumatic fever and nephritis.
16 May	Fg Off	BAYES, JOHN WALDEN	He was killed whilst flying an unidentified Siskin IIIA of No 19 Sqn, which hit the ground at Northolt whilst executing a slow roll.
18 May	Fg Off	BUTLER, LEONARD RAFO	He was killed whilst flying DH60 Moth, G-EBUW, owned by the Irving Air Chute Company, which crashed at Odsey, Cambridgeshire whilst practising for a flying display.
21 May	LAC	SKYRME, DAVID WILLIAM	He died from acute tonsillitis whilst serving as a Fitter (Aero Engine) with No 4 FTS and is buried in Ismailia War Memorial Cemetery.
10 Jun	Wg Cdr(Hon)	DUNVILLE, JOHN DUNVILLE CBE RAFO	He was the head of Dunville & Co, whiskey distillers and a liaison officer with No 502 (Ulster) Sqn, when died at home after a long illness.

16 Jun	Sgt	GARLINGE, GEORGE	He was serving at the Aircraft Depot, Iraq and died in the RAF General Hospital at Hinaidi from septicaemia and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
17 Jun	Plt Off	JORGENSEN, JAMES ERNEST	He was killed in a flying accident flying Siskin IIIDC, J9196 of No 3 Sqn when the wings of the aircraft folded up during aerobatics.

27 Jun	Fg Off	EYRE, VICKERS OSBORNE	He was serving with No 56 Sqn and he died in Redhill Hospital from injuries sustained whilst flying Siskin, J8949 which spun into the ground at Hendon during a practice for the RAF Pageant.
27 Jun	Flt Lt	HALLIDAY, CHRISTOPHER GEORGE	He was killed whilst flying Wapiti IIA, J9408 of No 30 Sqn, which crashed whilst escorting a French aircraft at Luquit. He is buried in Basra (Makina) R.A.F. Cemetery.
2 Jul	Plt Off	BOOTES, RONALD YULE	He was killed whilst flying an unidentified Atlas of No 1 FTS, which crashed at Netheravon.
7 Jul	Wg Cdr	DE DOMBASLE, GUY CYRIL ST POURCIN OBE	He died in a nursing home.
11 Jul	Plt Off	SWAINE, REGINALD MONTAGUE	He was killed whilst flying Avro 504N, J9006 of No 1 FTS, which crashed near Trowbridge in Wiltshire, as he attempted a forced landing. He is buried in Netheravon (All Saints) Churchyard.
17 Jul	Fg Off	PRINCE, STANLEY FRANK	He was killed whilst flying an unidentified Fairey IIIF, K1758 of No 207 Sqn, which crashed off the coast at Skipsea, East Yorkshire after colliding with the drogue target. His crewman, LAC E W Buttenshaw was also killed.
17 Jul	LAC	BUTTENSAW, EDWARD WILLIAM	A Carpenter Rigger, he was killed whilst flying in a Fairey IIIF, K1758 of No 207 Sqn, off Skipsea, East Yorkshire after colliding with the drogue target.
17 Jul	LAC	SAVAGE, ERNEST WALTER	He died in the RAF General Hospital, Hinaidi from sub-acute appendicitis and heat exhaustion whilst serving as a Clerk (Stores Accounting) at AHQ Iraq, he is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
19 Jul	Plt Off	BENNETT, WALTER PATRICK DILLON RAFO	He was killed in a flying accident at Borehamwood whilst flying DH60X Moth, G-EBZS of the DH School of Flying, which spun in off a loop.
27 Jul	Fg Off	WILLIAMSON, JOHN DOUGLAS RAFO	He died of injuries sustained on 9 Jul 1929 whilst flying DH9J, G-EBOQ of the Armstrong Whitworth Reserve School, Whitley, which stalled at 400 feet during a flat turn approach and crashed heavily three fields outside airfield.
29 Jul	Fg Off	WHITE, ARCHER STATHAM (Hon Flt Lt) RAFO	He was killed whilst flying DH60G Moth, G-AAKL of the De Havilland Aircraft Co Ltd, when he collided with G-AAJU at Valley Farm, near Kingsbury.
30 Jul	Fg Off	CAULFIELD, JACK HARLEY RAFO	He died in Hounslow Hospital from injuries sustained whilst flying Simmonds Spartan, G-AAMC belonging to National Flying Services Ltd, which spun in during low aerobatics and caught fire at Hanworth.
2 Aug	Lt	WALLACE, MICHAEL HUGH (HLI)	He died from malaria at Hinaidi.

5 Aug	Plt Off	ESLER, DERMOTT PATRICK HOWARD RAFO	Working as a journalist, he died from injuries sustained on 4 July 1929 whilst flying in Avro 504K, G-AAED belonging to J Sale & A Barnett of Shoreham, which spun in on the downwind leg of the approach to Stag Lane.

24 Aug	Plt Off	WILSON, JOHN	He was killed whilst flying an unidentified Victoria of No 216 Sqn, which crashed at Heliopolis. Three other crew members/passengers were also killed, Sgt J Melville, LAC C E Larigan and LAC M C Creed. Two other were injured, Sgt S Deacon and AC1 F W Mabbett. The aircraft could have possibly been J8228 or J8065.
24 Aug	Sgt	MELVILLE, JOHN	He was killed whilst flying in an unidentified Victoria of No 216 Sqn, which crashed at Heliopolis. Three other crew members/passengers were also killed, Plt Off J Wilson (pilot), LAC C E Larigan and LAC M C Creed. Two other were injured, Sgt S Deacon and AC1 F W Mabbett. The aircraft could have possibly been J8228 or J8065.
24 Aug	LAC	LARIGAN, CHARLES ERNEST	He was killed whilst flying in an unidentified Victoria of No 216 Sqn, which crashed at Heliopolis. Three other crew members/passengers were also killed, Plt Off J Wilson (pilot), Sgt J Melville and LAC M C Creed. Two other were injured, Sgt S Deacon and AC1 F W Mabbett. 25 Aug	AC1	CREED, MERVYN HENRY	A Fitter (Aero Engine), he died from injuries sustained the previous day whilst flying in an unidentified Victoria of No 216 Sqn, which crashed at Heliopolis. Three other crew members/passengers were also killed, Plt Off J Wilson (pilot), Sgt J Melville and LAC C E Larigan. Two other were injured, Sgt S Deacon and AC1 F W Mabbett. The aircraft could have possibly been J8228 or J8065.
25 Aug	Cpl	COLLINSON, ROBERT SYLVESTER	He was serving as a Storekeeper at the Aircraft Depot, Iraq and drowned, he is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
26 Aug	Sqn Ldr	GROSVENOR, LORD EDWARD ARTHUR AAF	He was OC, No 601 (County of London) Sqn, AuxAF when he died, cause unknown on the Isle of Wight.
6 Sep	Flt Lt	WOODBRIDGE, ALBERT EDWARD RAFO	He was killed whilst flying De Havilland DH.66 Hercules, G-EBMZ "City of Jerusalem' of Imperial Airways, which was destroyed by fire after stalling on a night approach to Jask in Persia.
8 Sep	LAC	MORGAN, ARTHUR JOHN THOMPSON	He was serving as a Clerk (GD) at the Aircraft Depot, Iraq when he died, cause unknown in the General Hospital, Hinaidi and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
10 Sep	Plt Off	LUCAS, LAWRENCE ERRINGTON JEFF	He was killed in flying accident at Upavon, whilst flying an unidentified Siskin IIIA of No 17 Sqn and is buried in Upavon Church Cemetery.
21 Sep	LAC	PARKER, A A	He was serving with No 45 Sqn, when he died, cause unknown in the Palestine General Hospital and is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery.
23 Sep	Cpl	HASLER, FREDERICK	He was serving as Armoured Car Crew with No 2 Armoured Car Company, when he died, cause unknown and is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery.
23 Sep	LAC	LANE, ERNEST GEORGE RICHARD (364690)	He was a Fitter (Armourer) undergoing pilot training when he was killed whilst flying in Atlas, J9471 of No 3 FTS, along with Flt Lt R Pyne, which spun into the ground at Harrowby Hall Farm near Grantham.
3 Oct	AC1	EDGLEY, GEORGE WILLIAM	He was killed whilst swinging a propeller on Virginia X, J7424, 58 Sqn at night at Upper Heyford
10 Oct	LAC	CAIRD, THOMAS WHITE served as KELLY, THOMAS WHITE	He had been a Storekeeper and was probably retraining as a pilot when he was killed whilst flying Atlas TM, J9440 of No 1 Flying Training School when he collided with J9437 of the same unit, the pilot of which, Plt Off Hugh Dunsmuir Primrose, was dangerously injured. He is buried in Netheravon (All Saints) Churchyard.
11 Oct	Fg Off	CLARKE, JOHN	He was killed whilst flying an unidentified Siskin IIIA of No 29 Sqn when the wing caught a building as it was taking off from Brough.
24 Oct	Cpl	WALMSLEY, WILLIAM	He was killed whilst as the crewman in DH9A, J8176 of No 55 Sqn, which hit a signpost whilst low flying crashing near Diyala and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
26 Oct	Fg Off	BIRT, LASCELLES SPENCE RAFO	“One of the Calcutta flying boats, the City of Rome, running on the Alexandria-Genoa Imperial Airways route was lost about ten miles southwest of Spezia on Saturday, October 26. It appears that heavy weather caused her to come down and she subsequently sank with the loss of all hands. Seven people were on board, including the pilot, Captain L.S. Birt, the flight engineer, wireless operator and four passengers, and up to date three of the bodies have been recovered. The wireless operator succeeded in sending as S.O.S. before they landed but no ship with wireless seems to have been in the vicinity. A tug, the Famiglia, sighted the boat and got her in tow, but the terrific seas carried away the tow rope and the tug lost sight of her and returned to Spezzia. 28 Oct	Fg Off	WARD, ALBERT ROSS	He was killed whilst flying Fairey IIID, S1018 of No 442 Flt, HMS Hermes. Taking off slightly out of wind, he stalled as he turned downwind and dived into Honk Kong harbour. His crew, LAC G T Cant RAF, and Tel W F S Aplin RN were uninjured.
28 Oct	AC2	WILSON, ROBERT HENRY	He was serving as a Rigger (Aero) when he was killed whilst flying in Horsley II, S1245 of No 36 Sqn, which crashed into the Firth of Forth, near Queensferry near HMS Argus.
5 Nov	Fg Off	HALLIWELL, JOHN HASSELL RAFO (Capt TARO)	He died, cause unknown in North Lonsdale Hospital, Barrow-in-Furness.
3 Dec	Fg Off	FORBES, HAROLD VERNON	He was killed whilst flying Bristol Fighter, J8454 of the Home Aircraft Depot which dived into the ground inverted after control was lost.
3 Dec	A/A	SPARROW, EDWARD HENRY (562312 )	He was training as a Coppersmith and Sheet Metal Worker at RAF Halton when he died, cause unknown.
17 Dec	Flt Lt	JENKINS, NORMAN HUGH OBE, DFC, DSM	A member of No 22 Sqn, he was killed whilst undertaking to fly non-stop from Cranwell to Cape Town in the Fairey Long Range monoplane, J9479, the aircraft crashing in mountains at Djibel Lit, Zaghaouan near Tunis. He was accompanying Sqn Ldr A G Jones-Williams who was also killed.
17 Dec	Sqn Ldr	JONES-WILLIAMS, ARTHUR GORDON MC	He was killed whilst undertaking to fly non-stop from Cranwell to Cape Town in the Fairey Long Range monoplane, J9479, the aircraft crashing in mountains at Djibel Lit, Zaghaouan near Tunis. He was accompanying Flt Lt N H Jenkins who was also killed.
25 Dec	LAC	BREACH, KENNETH HORACE	He was serving as a Turner with No 70 Sqn and died in the RAF General Hospital at Hinaidi from typhoid, he is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
30 Dec	Flt Lt	LAWSON, JOHN FRANCIS AFC	He was killed in a motor accident whilst serving on the staff at HQ In land Area.
