He was killed whilst flying as a crewman in an unidentified Fairey IIID (N9759?) of the Armament and Gunnery School, piloted by Fg Off G H C Ingle RAFO, who was also killed, when it crashed at Eastchurch.  The other crewman, AC2 G H Johnson was also killed.

He was killed whilst flying as a crewman in an unidentified Fairey IIID (N9759?) of the Armament and Gunnery School, piloted by Fg Off G H C Ingle RAFO, who was also killed, when it crashed at Eastchurch.  The other crewman, LAC F N Howick was also killed.

He was killed in a flying accident in Fairey IIID, S1023 of HMS Argus whilst towing a drogue target.  His aircraft hit an air pocket and dived into the Gibraltar Bay.  His crew member, Lt H A J Grant was seriously injured and later died.
