His passenger, Lt S G Haserick, King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (attached Iraq Levies), was dangerously injured, and died of his injuries later that day. He is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid R.A.F. Cemetery.
17 Jan	Plt Off	STEVINSON, GUY	He was killed in a flying accident at Tidworth whilst flying Woodcock, xxxxx of No 17 Sqn. He is buried in Upavon Church Cemetery.
23 Jan	Fg Off	DAUNCEY, HAROLD CAMPBELL GAMBIER	He was killed in a flying accident at Martlesham Heath whilst carrying out trials in an experimental aircraft.
30 Jan	SM1	COLLIN, WILLIAM	He died from a brain haemorrhage resulting from a fall from a bicycle whilst serving as a Fitter (Aero Engine) with No 502 Sqn.
30 Jan	LAC	FISHER, HAROLD EDWIN	He was killed in a flying accident at Helwan in Egypt in DH9A, J8118 of No 45 Sqn, flown by Sgt F E Omeara and is buried in Cairo New British Protestant Cemetery.
30 Jan	Sgt	OMEARA, FREDERICK ERNEST	He was killed in a flying accident at Helwan in Egypt whilst flying DH9A, J8118of No 45 Sqn. Also killed in the crash was LAC H E Fisher.
4 Feb	AC1	THOMPSON, PERCY (354784): age 31	He died from burns whilst serving as an Armourer with No 8 Sqn and is buried in Maala Cemetery.
8 Feb	Plt Off	CHALMERS, PETER JOHN BASIL	He was killed in a flying accident near Emsworth, Hants, whilst flying Gamecock I, J7919 of No 43 Sqn.
13 Feb	Fg Off	DAUNCEY, HAROLD CAMPBELL GAMBIER	A member of No 22 Sqn at the A&AEE, he was killed whilst flying Blackburn F1 Turcock, G-EBVP, which crashed after hitting a tree at the end of the third run during speed trials at Martlesham Heath.
17 Feb	Plt Off	WATSON, ERIC JAMES	He was seriously injured in a mid-air collision between three Grebes of No 25 Sqn at Capel near Folkestone. He was flying either J7372 or J7392 and later died of his injuries. The pilot of the the other Grebe, J7372 or J7392, Fg Off Leonard Arthur Walsh, successfully abandoned his aircraft and was uninjured, as was the pilot of the third aircraft, J7412.
20 Feb	Fg Off	JACKSON, ROLF BOOTH HILTON	He was killed in action when he was shot down near Busaiyah in Iraq, whilst flying an unidentified DH9A of No 55 Sqn. He survived the crash but was shot by tribesmen and is buried in Basra (Makina) R.A.F. Cemetery.
1 Mar	Sgt	TRICKETT, HERBERT	He was killed whilst flying Grebe II, J7293 of No 29 Sqn, which crashed into a field near Duxford.
2 Mar	Sgt	MALTMAN, WILLIAM BEAN	He was killed flying Fairey IIIF, S1195 of No 207 Sqn which stalled and crashed on the Isle of Grain during a formation practice flight.

2 Mar	AC1	LOWMAN, WILLIAM GEORGE	A Fitter (Aero Engine), he was killed flying Fairey IIIF, S1195 of No 207 Sqn which stalled and crashed on the Isle of Grain during a formation practice flight.
8 Mar	Flt Lt	HOILE, WILLIAM HENRY MBE	An Accountant Officer, he was serving at HQ Special Reserve and Auxiliary Air Force when he died at Fairlight, Burgess Hill, from a wound received in the war.
12 Mar	Flt Lt	KINKEAD, SAMUEL MARCUS DSO, DSC, DFC	He was making an attempt on the World Absolute Speed Record in Supermarine S5, N221 of the RAF High Speed Flt when he misjudged his landing on a glassy sea in bad visibility and he flew into the Solent and was killed.

22 Mar	Flt Lt	JEZZARD, FRANK MBE	He was killed whilst flying Avro 504N, J8581 which crashed two miles south of Henlow after hitting telegraph wires near the main road to the camp.
28 Mar	Flt Lt	McCORMACK, GEORGE	He was severely injured whilst flying an unidentified DH9A of No 14 Sqn near Amman and later died of his injuries. He is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery.
28 Mar	LAC	KIMBERLY, JAMES	A Fitter (Aero Engine), he was killed whilst flying as the crewman in an unidentified DH9A of No 14 Sqn near Amman, flown by Flt Lt G McCormack. He is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery.
29 Mar	Fg Off	REEVE, JAMES VARNEY	He was serving at RAF Halton when he was fatally injured in a motor-cycle accident near Halton Turn, on the Aylesbury-Wendover road, being found by a passing motorist, lying in the road with a fractured skull.
1 Apr	Plt Off	MADOCKS, KENRICK ALEXANDER NAPIER RAFO	He was studying mining engineering when he was killed in a motor-car accident involving the Queen's nephew, Viscount Rematon (son of the Earl of Ahtlone) in France.
2 Apr	Fg Off	HADDEN, JACK (Lt Black Watch)	He was killed in a flying accident near Colchester whilst flying Bristol Fighter, J7651 of No 2 Sqn, AC1 George Henry Towers was also killed. At the time they were carrying out a low level strafing exercise and hit trees.
2 Apr	AC1	TOWERS, GEORGE HENRY	A Wireless Operator, he was killed in a flying accident near Colchester whilst flying in Bristol Fighter, J7651 of No 2 Sqn, flown by Fg Off J Hadden. At the time they were carrying out a low level strafing exercise and hit trees.
2 Apr	Plt Off	WOOD, JACK WHITWORTH	He was killed in a flying accident near Hillah, Iraq, whilst flying DH9A, J7854 of No 30 Sqn, AC1 William Waugh was also killed. He was trying to land near a stranded aircraft when their aircraft spun in. He is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid R.A.F. Cemetery.
2 Apr	AC1	WAUGH, WILLIAM	A Carpenter Rigger, he was killed in a flying accident near Hillah, Iraq, whilst in flying DH9A, J7854 of No 30 Sqn, being flown by Plt Off J W Wood. They were trying to land near a stranded aircraft when he spun in. He is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
3 Apr	Fg Off	HALE, ALFRED WILLIAM BEVERLEY	He was killed in a flying accident in Hong Kong whilst flying Fairey IIIF, S1216 of No 440 (Fleet Spotter Reconnaissance) Flt, H.M.S. Hermes, when it bounced on landing on deck and went over the side into the sea. Also killed were his passengers, Lt. J H P Graham, RN and Tel S Jackson.
9 Apr	LAC	MOORE, ROLAND ESCOTT (353142)	He was serving as a Motor-Cyclist with No 8 Sqn, when he died from extensive burns, cause unknown and is buried in Maala Cemetery.
25 Apr	LAC	TURNER, ERNEST ARTHUR	A Wireless Operator/Mechanic, he drowned as a result of a flying accident at Attock in India, whilst flying in DH9A, xxxxx of No 27 Sqn, flown by Sgt D Irving.
27 Apr	Flt Cdt	MEAKIN, PETER ANTHONY	He was severely injured in a flying accident on 26 Apr 1928 in Siskin IIIA, J8956 of the Royal Air Force Cadet College, Cranwell when he dived into the ground and his aircraft caught fire. He died the following day from his injuries.
6 May	Fg Off	HOPPER, RICHARD ERIC RAFO	He was killed whilst flying DH 60X Moth, G-EBSN, c/n 418, of the Bristol & Wessex Aero Club (Filton) which crashed near the airfield and burnt out, his passenger was also killed. He is buried in Canford Cemetery in Bristol.
10 May	Cpl	BRADFORD, ERNEST	He was killed at Invergordon whilst flying in a Southampton flying boat of No 480 Flight.
11 May	Fg Off	ATKIN, HUBERT CLARE RAFO	He died, cause unknown, at Abadan in Persia
11 May	Fg Off	UNDERDOWN, GERALD ARTHUR	He was killed whilst flying a Bristol F2B of No 16 Sqn, which crashed at Old Sarum during a training sortie to provide Army personnel with practice in anti-aircraft defence.
11 May	LAC	THOMAS, DONALD MARTIN	A Carpenter Rigger, he was killed whilst flying a Bristol F2B of No 16 Sqn, which crashed at Old Sarum during a training sortie to provide Army personnel with practice in anti-aircraft defence.
12 May	AC1	BOLTON, JOHN GEORGE	A Carpenter Rigger, he was killed flying in Fairey IIIF, S1260 of 446 Flt when it stalled on the approach to land at Farnborough and crashed into a house.
13 May	Sgt	WOODS, WILLIAM STANLEY	He died in the RAF General Hospital, Baghdad from acute bulbar paralysis whilst serving as a Clerk (GD) at AHQ Iraq and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
18 May	AC1	FRYER, ARTHUR ROBERT	He was serving as a Fitter (Aero Engine) at the Aircraft Depot, Iraq and died at Hinaidi from acute nephirtis, he is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
18 May	Fg Off	GOLDIE, MAURICE WYNDHAM	He was serving at the Central Flying School and died, cause unknown, at 57 Manchester Street, Marylebone.
20 May	Fg Off	BRADBURY, GEOFFREY	He died in the West Norfolk Hospital from injuries sustained on 8 May 1928 whilst flying Siskin IIIA, J8402 of No 41 Sqn, which crashed at Holbeach Ranges.
21 May	Plt Off	DREW, JAMES PEARSON AAF	A member of No 602 (City of Glasgow) Sqn AAF, he was killed whilst flying De Havilland DH60X, G-EBUU, which crashed at Renfrew whilst carrying out aerobatics.
26 May	Flt Lt	FENWICK, WILLIAM LONGSTAFFE	He was attached to No 84 Sqn from No 5 Armoured Car Company when he was killed in a motor-car accident in Baghdad and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
26 May	Fg Off	FORSTER, EDWARD BERESFORD	He had recently been serving with No 84 Sqn and was preparing to return to the UK when he was killed in a motor-car accident in Baghdad and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
28 May	Fg Off	MALYAN, BERNARD JAMES RAFO	He died, cause unknown at Hardwick, Marsh Lane, Stanmore.
29 May	Fg Off	COOPER, ARTHUR GABBETIS RAFO	He was killed whilst flying his own aircraft, Avro 504K, G-EBLA, which forced-landed in the sea off Weymouth.
5 Jun	Fg Off	CRANSWICK, PHILIP MC	He was killed at Upavon whilst flying Woodcock II, J7728 of No 3 Sqn, which collided with J8316 of the same unit. The other aircraft was being flown by Fg Off D J F McMillan. He is buried in Upavon Church Cemetery.
5 Jun	Fg Off	McMILLAN, DOUGLAS JAMES FREDERICK	He was killed at Upavon whilst flying Woodcock II, J8316 of No 3 Sqn, which collided with J7728 of the same unit. The other aircraft was being flown by Fg Off P Cranswick. He is buried in Upavon Church Cemetery.
8 Jun	Sgt	GARNER, ALFRED JOSEPH	He was killed whilst flying an unidentified Bristol Fighter of No 6 Sqn, which spun in near Mosul and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery. His crewman, Sgt W F Futcher was also killed.
8 Jun	Sgt	FUTCHER, WILLIAM FRANK	A Fitter (Aero Engine), he was killed whilst flying as the crewman in an unidentified Bristol F2B of No 6 Sqn, which spun in near Mosul and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery. The pilot, Sgt A J Garner was also killed.

25 Jun	Fg Off	NICHOLSON JOHN (Lt RN)	He was killed whilst flying Blackburn Dart, S1119 of No 463 Flt when taking off from HMS Courageous. He swung to starboard, his wing hit the superstructure and his aircraft dived over the side into the sea.
26 Jun	Plt Off	MAUND, JOHN HENRY LORRAINE	He was killed in a flying accident near Amman whilst flying an unidentified DH9A of No 14 Sqn. His air gunner, AC1 J J H Middleton was also killed.

1 Jul	Flt Lt	CALVEY, HAROLD CHARLES	He was killed in a flying accident at Clifton, Bedfordshire whilst flying Avro 504N, H2534 of the RAF Practice Camp, Sutton Bridge. His passenger, Flt Sgt W C Hollier was also killed in the accident.

4 Jul	Fg Off	KAY, ALEXANDER BRUCE	He was severely injured in a flying accident at Mosul in Iraq whilst flying an unidentified Bristol Fighter of No 6 Sqn on 2 Jul 1928, when he hit telegraph wires near the Mosul bridge and crashed into the River Tigris. He later died of his injuries an is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid R.A.F. Cemetery. His passenger LAC A H Bolton was slightly injured.
7 Jul	Plt Off	SHIELLS, JOHN TEMPLE LYALL AAF	He was killed in a flying accident at Corstorphine whilst flying Avro 504K, xxxxx of No 603 (City of Edinburgh) Sqn.
18 Jul	LAC	HALLETT, ALLEN ALPHONSO	He was serving as a Fitter (Aero Engine) with No 30 Sqn, when he died, cause unknown and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
20 Jul	Fg Off	WARWICK, GUY NEVILE RAFO	A member of Newcastle-on-Tyne Aero Club, he was killed whilst flying G-EBPI, which flew into hills near Peebles while taking part in the King’s Cup Race (Cramlington to Renfrew leg) in mist.
21 Jul	Fg Off	MORRISON, JOHN OSWALD	He drowned whilst serving as an Accountant Officer at AHQ Iraq and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
31 Jul	Sgt	MORRIS, CECIL NORMAN	He was killed in a flying accident near Aden whilst flying Fairey IIIF, xxxxx of No 8 Sqn, his passenger, L/Cpl, (Act Sgt) Gwilym Williams, 2nd Battalion, The South Wales Borderers, was slightly injured. He is buried in Maala Cemetery.
2 Aug	Flt Lt	BROWNING, LANCE HAROLD MC, DFC	He was killed in a flying accident on the Holbeach Ranges, whilst flying an unidentified Woodcock II of No 3 Sqn, when the wing failed during an air firing exercise.
14 Aug	Flt Lt	EDWARDES, EDWARD NORMAN TICKNER	He was killed in a flying accident at Sheikh Othman, Aden, whilst flying Fairey IIIF, xxxxx of No 8 Sqn. His air gunner, LAC A W Jones was slightly injured. He is buried in Maala Cemetery.
17 Aug	Plt Off	COLE, ADRIAN GORDON	He was killed in a mid-air collision Digby whilst flying Avro 504N, J9016 of No. 2 FTS. The other aircraft was DH9A, J7795 also of No 2 FTS flown by Fg Off Alfred Rodney Feather, who was seriously injured although his passenger, Plt Off B G D'Olier was killed. Fg Off Feather was admitted to hospital but died of his injuries later.
17 Aug	Plt Off	D'OLIER, BERTRAND GUY	He was killed in a mid-air collision at Digby with Avro 504N, J9016 of No 2 FTS whilst flying as a passenger in DH9A, J7795, flown by Fg Off A R Feather. The Avro, also belonging to No 2 FTS was being flown by Plt Off A G Cole, who was also killed. Fg Off Feather was admitted to hospital but died of his injuries later.
17 Aug	Fg Off	FEATHER, ALFRED RODNEY	He was killed in a mid-air collision at Digby with Avro 504N, J9016 of No 2 FTS whilst flying DH9A, J7795, also belonging to No 2 FTS. The Avro was being flown by Plt Off A G Cole, who was also killed as was Fg Off Feather's passenger, Plt Off D G D'Olier. Fg Off Feather was admitted to hospital but died of his injuries later.
20 Aug	LAC	ROWLANDS, EDGAR VINCENT	A Special Reserve airman serving with No 502 (Ulster) Sqn, he died in hospital, from phthisis.
29 Aug	LAC	STEVENS, SYDNEY CHARLES	A Clerk (GD), he was training as a pilot when was killed in a flying accident at Abu Sueir, Egypt, whilst flying Avro 504N, J8719 of No 4 FTS. He stalled and spun in, the aircraft catching fire and burning out. He is buried in Ismailia War Memorial Cemetery.
31 Aug	Sgt	SAUNDERS, VICTOR ROBERT	He was killed in a flying accident at Amman whilst flying DH9A, J7833 of No 14 Sqn, his gunner LAC F W Fletcher was also killed. He stalled whilst making a turn downwind. He is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery.
31 Aug	LAC	FLETCHER, FREDERICK WILLIAM	A Carpenter Rigger, he was killed in a flying accident at Amman whilst flying in DH9A, J7833 of No 14 Sqn, flown by Sgt V R Saunders. The aircraft stalled whilst making a turn downwind. He is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery.
31 Aug	Plt Off	JOHNSTONE, EDWARD LEO	He was killed in a flying accident at Grantham whilst flying Avro 504N, xxxxx of No 3 FTS, which crashed after stalling from a flat turn.
31 Aug	Plt Off	RIESS, JAMES GRAYDON	He was seriously injured in a flying accident near Nocton, Lincolnshire on 30 Aug 1928, whilst flying Avro 504N, H2201 of No 2 FTS but died the following day in hospital.
2 Sep	Plt Off	ALDRIDGE, GEORGE HERBERT AuxAF	He was killed in a flying accident at Great Glen, near Leicester, whilst flying DH9A, J8107 of No 605 (County of Warwick) Sqn during a cross-country training flight.

19 Sep	Fg Off	DE WOULF DE WYTT, ATHAL PATRICK	He was killed in a flying accident at Eastchurch whilst flying Siskin, J8871 of the Armament and Gunnery School, which stalled in a turn shortly after take off.
24 Sep	LAC	HEPPLE, CHARLES	He was serving as a Rigger (Aero) with the Base Party, Far East Flight and died in the General Hospital, Singapore from encephalitis lethargica ('sleepy sickness') and is buried in Kranji Military Cemetery.
30 Sep	Flt Lt	EDWARDS, BRIAN LAMBURN MB	A Medical Officer, he died at Peshawar, following a motorcycle accident.

11 Oct	Flt Lt	SOMERVELL, WILLIAM EDMUND AFC	He was killed whilst flying Fairey Fox, J7946 of No 12 Sqn, which lost its tails following a dive in salute to the Sultan of Oman at Hendon

19 Oct	Sqn Ldr	PARK, WALTER HENRY MC, DFC	He died in Shorncliffe Military Hospital following an operation. At the time of his death he was Officer Commanding, RAF Hawkinge.
1 Nov	AC1	GINGER, HENRY RUSSELL	He was serving as a Tinsmith and Sheet Metal Worker at the Aircraft Depot, Iraq when he died in the RAF General Hospital at Hinaidi from typhoid and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
6 Nov	Plt Off	MYERS, CHARLES LILBURN	He was killed in a flying accident at Preston Moor, Yorkshire, whilst flying Atlas, J9043 of No 26 Squadron. His air gunner, AC2 H Chadwick was also killed.

7 Nov	Plt Off	COUPE, RICHARD HAROLD	He was killed in a flying accident near Boothby Graffoe, Lincolnshire, whilst flying Avro 504N, E3150 of No 2 FTS, Digby.
8 Nov	Fg Off	GORDON, ROBERT WILLIAM (Capt RM)	He was probably serving at RAF Leuchars when he died from injuries sustained on 3 November in a motor-car accident near St Andrews.

11 Nov	LAC	MONGER, ALFRED CHARLES	He died in the RAF Hospital, Hinaidi from typhoid fever whilst serving at the Aircraft Depot, Iraq and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.

24 Nov	Flt Lt	ARCHER, GORDON	He was severely injured whilst flying (as the instructor?) in an unidentified Avro 504 of No 3 FTS, which crashed at Grantham, he died from his injuries later that day. His (pupil?), LAC R Wallace was injured in the accident.
10 Dec	Flt Sgt	TOSTEVIN, OSMOND CECIL	He was killed in a mid-air collision near Whittlesford whilst flying Siskin IIIA, J8872 of the Station Flight, Duxford. The pilot of the other aircraft, also a Siskin IIIA, J8851 of No 19 Sqn abandoned his aircraft and made a safe descent by parachute. He is buried in Warmwell (Holy Trinity) Churchyard.

26 Dec	Fg Off	RICKS, ARNOLD WILLIAM ALEXANDER	He was killed in a flying accident south-west of Khartoum whilst flying Fairey IIIF, S1206 of No 47 Sqn. His passengers, Capt. James Charles Doyle of the Aeronautical Inspection Directorate and Sgt C L Long, were also killed. He is buried in Khartoum War Cemetery.
26 Dec	Sgt	LONG, CHARLES LEONARD	He was killed in a flying accident south-west of Khartoum whilst flying in Fairey IIIF, S1206 of No 47 Sqn piloted by Fg Off A W A Ricks. He is buried in Khartoum War Cemetery.
26 Dec	Flt Lt	MARSH, FRANCIS CALDWELL	He was killed in a motor accident, no further details at present
26 Dec	Flt Lt	SUTHERLAND, WILLIAM MBE	He died, cause unknown, in the RAF Hospital, Hinaidi whilst serving with the Armoured Car Wing and is buried in Ma'asker Al Raschid RAF Cemetery.
