He was severely injured in an accident at Ramleh whilst flying an unidentified Bristol Fighter, of No 14 Sqn.  He died from his injuries later the same day in the Palestine General Hospital.  He is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery.

He was flying DH9A, E8792 of No 27 Sqn on a  bombing aid when they was forced to land in hostile territory, during which his machine was completely wrecked. The observer was killed  instantly but Fg Off Dashwood fell into the hands of friendly Guri Khel, unfortunately he died of his injuries shortly afterwards.

He was flying as observer to Fg Off Dashwood in  DH9A, E8792 of No 27 Sqn on a  bombing aid when he was forced to land in hostile territory, during which his machine was completely wrecked. He was flying in a Virginia, J7439of No 9 Sqn which ran into fog at 11:00.  The pilot (Plt Off Eric Alfred Claude Bushell) put the aircraft down in the sea off Birchington and was slightly injured.  AC2 Horace Eustace Grellis was seriously injured but  Mills and Plt Off Walker were reported missing believed drowned.

He was the passenger in DH9A, E8751 of No 4 FTS when it struck the mast of a boat in the Suez Canal whilst low flying the previous day, in which he and his pilot, Plt Off C  Woodbyrne were seriously injured.  However, he died of his injuries the following day.  He is buried in Ismailia War Memorial Cemetery.
