RAF Casualties 1919 - F


The fatal casualties listed below are those shown on the Commonwealth War Graves Register as having died due to World War One, however they can be divided into two distinct groups.

The first group are those who were still on active service at the time of their death and the second those who had been demobilised but whose death was attributed to their war service.

Group 1 - Died on active service

He was died from influenza, probably whilst serving at RAF Cranwell and is buried in Perth (Wellshill) Cemetery.

He was serving with No 50 Training Depot Station. (Eastbourne) and died in a Military Hospital in Eastbourne from an unknown illness, he buried in Halifax (Stoney Royd) Cemetery.

He was serving wit thhe Boys' Training Wing (Cranwell) and is buried in Plashet Jewish Cemetery.

FENWICK, CECIL JAMES

He was serving at "X" Engine Repair Depot and died from a fractured skull sustained when the Crossley car he was driving collided with a lorry, he is buried in Cairo War Memorial Cemetery.

FENWICK, FREDERICK

He was killed whilst flying in Bristol F2B, F4361, which collided with a balloon cable during a demonstration flight at the RAF Exhibition in Newcastle.  He is buried in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (St Nicholas) Cemetery.

FILLMORE, REGINALD FRANK

He was serving with the Cenntral Despatch Pool and was killed whilst flying Bristol F2B, F4838, which came down in the Channel, he is buried in Oxford (Osney St Mary) Cemetery.

He was serving with No 21 Training Depot Station and died from influenza and pneumonia, he is buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery.

He was serving as a Blacksmith at No 1 Aircraft Depart and was drowned in an accident, he is buried in Longuenesse (St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery.
