He was the pilot of DH9, D7233 of No 99 Sqn on a raid against Conflans rail junction and Doncourt Aerodrome on 30 Aug 1918. However his aircraft suffered a fuel problem and he put down on a French airfield. The following day his aircraft stalled on take off and both he and his observer were killed in the ensuing crash. He is buried in Charmes Military Cemetery, Essegney. |
