At Cranwell, he attained the rank of Flight Cadet Sergeant, represented the college at Swimming and was awarded the Hyde Thompson and Humanities trophies.

Following his retirement from the RAF he became Manager, Technical Training Institute, Airwork Services in Saudi Arabia.
