"The
Old El Firdanians"
The committee of our first reunion of
"The Old El Firdanians" hosted a reunion at Sywell Airport Northamptonshire on
the 20th of May 2005, following this successful event it has drawn men from
around the world who once served at El Firdan. 2006 saw a repeat of the above and we hope it will be an annual event. Sywell
has already been booked for May 2007. People came from all parts of England,
Scotland, Wales to have their General Service medals presented by a serving
senior officer. If you served in the Canal Zone of Egypt and had connections
with the above, or knew someone who served there I would be very pleased to hear
from you. Time will fly by and we on the
committee hope that you will contact us by emailing me personally
john.purkiss@ntlworld.com to add you to our list. Please do not wait till
the last minute as there is a lot of work involved organising a reunion and I
will answer all mail personally. I served as a MTM in VRF AT 9MTBD, others on
