The unit in which he had been serving is currently unknown but he died in Japanese captivity whilst being held in a camp at Aceh.  He is commemorated on the Singapore Memorial

He was serving at 4831 Airfield Construction Flight and died in the Station Sick Quarters, RAF Tain as the result of a fractured skull received the previous day.  He is buried in Grantham Cemetery.
