08-Apr	BEALE, HEATHCOTE HUIA BUTLER DFC and Bar(41465) age: 27 RNZAF	Sqn Ldr	He was flying in Wellington X, LN853 'Z' of No 37 Sqn, which was shot down by a night fighter during a raid to Budapest on 3/4 Apr 1944. He baled out but broke his back when he landed in the River Danube and died four days later in the German Military Hospital at Semlin. He is bcommemorated on the Malta Memorial.
