He was killed whilst flying in Hurricane IIC, LF426 of No 1688 Flt, which dived into the ground at Weltmore Farm in Norfolk during an air test.  He is buried in Cambridge City Cemetery

He had been serving with No 170 Wing, when he died from peritonitis from a perforated gastric ulcer on board the SS Strathaird whilst in transit as part of draft 51103, and was buried at sea.  He is commemorated on the Singapore Memorial.

He was serving with the RAF College (FTS) and died in Rauceby Hospital from injuries sustained in an MT accident on the South Airfield, Cranwell.  He had been driving a tractor towing a bowser and somehow slipped off and fell below the wheels of the tractor as it was reversing.  He is buried in Little Ryburgh Churchyard.
