21 Sep	FOX, JOHN ERIC	AC2	He was serving with No 3 Balloon Centre when he committed suicide by falling from the tower of Westminster Cathedral, landing 200 ft down on the roof during an air raid and is buried in Ramsgate and St Lawrence Cemetery.

22 Sep	SWAIN, OSWALD BERTIE	Wg Cdr	He was serving with the Directorate of Training in the Air Ministry when he was killed in an air raid along with his wife, Irene Edith Clarissa Jane Swain (36) and son Richard (6). He was cremated at Golders Green Crematorium.
23 Sep	AYERS, DAVID HART	Sgt	He baled out of Spitfire II, P7362 of No 74 Sqn, off Southwold for an unknown reason but his body was not recovered until 4 Oct 1940. He is buried in Ipswich Cemetery.

He was admitted to SSQ but died from his wounds and is buried in Harpswell (St Chad) Churchyard.

24 Sep	SIDLIN, SAMUEL	AC2	He was serving at RAF Biggin Hill and was absent without leave, having delivered an Albion lorry to Gravesend when his ID discs and driving licence were found in the ruins of a bombed out building in the Tottenham Court are a of London following an air raid and was presumed to have been killed. He is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.

30 Sep	WALTERS, SIDNEY	Sgt	He was severely injured whilst flying in Blenheim IV, N6191 of No 107 Sqn, which crashed on take off from Wattisham and burst into flames. He was pulled from the flames by Wg Cdr L F Sinclair, who was awarded a GC for his courage. However, he died from his injuries later that day and is buried in Probus (SS Probus and Grace) Churchyard.
