Casualties - June - December 1920


In the list below some non-commissioned personnel are shown with two ranks, the first is generally that shown in the CWGC Register whilst the one in brackets is that shown on their records or what it should have become on 1 January 1919 when the RAF introduced a new rank/classification structure for non-commissioned personnel.  Where the airman died after 1 Jan 1919 and was still serving, rank shown is that shown on their service records regardless of what is shown on the CWGC register.

A Fitter (Aero Engine), he was flying with Fg Off V O Reynolds on a test flight in DH9A, F1646 of No 24 Sqn from Kenley but at between 200-300 ft the engine stopped and they crashed, the aircraft catching fire.  He his buried in Coventry (St Paul's) Cemetery.

He took off at 11:00 on a test flight with AC2 Braithwaite in DH9A, F1646 of No 24 Sqn from Kenley but at between 200-300 ft the engine stopped and they crashed, the aircraft catching fire.  He his buried in Bandon Hill Cemetery.
