RAF Casualties 1919 - W & Y


In the list below some non-commissioned personnel are shown with two ranks, the first is generally that shown in the CWGC Register whilst the one in brackets is that shown on their records or what it should have become on 1 January 1919 when the RAF introduced a new rank/classification structure for non-commissioned personnel.  Where only one rank is shown this appears on both the CWGC register and the service records.

He had been discharged on 22 Feb 1919, subsequently dying from an unknown cause and is buried in Arbroath Eastern Cemetery, prior to which he had been serving as a Hydrogen Worker with No 1 Balloon Training Depot.
