 1 Mar 1941 No 402 Squadron RCAF was formed at RAF Digby by redesignating No 2 Canadian Sqn RCAF, equipped with Hurricane Is: -

22 Apr 1941 65 x replacement airmen arrived on posting
27 Apr 1941 4 x Hurricane IIBs, Z3151, Z3230, Z3232, Z3233, arrived pending re-equipment
Hurricane IIA of No 402 Squadron (May 1941)

 2 May 1941 13 x pilots flown to RAF North Weald (2) and RAF Chilbolton (11) to collect further Hurricane IIs
16 May 1941 Squadron moved to the satellite airfield 'WC2' (Coleby Grange)
June
23 Jun 1941 Squadron departed Coleby Grange for RAF Stapleford Tawney, but on arrival was redirected to RAF Martlesham Heath

69 x airmen awaiting repatriation were attached to SHQ, RAF Digby on departure of the squadron
