29 Sep 1942 377 x airmen arrived at RAF Hednesford on posting to No 262 Sqn

All personnel embarked at Liverpool

October
All personnel were in transit to South Africa
November
 5 Nov 1942 All personnel disembarked at Durban and proceeded to IFTC Clairwood
6-11 Nov 1942 Personnel proceeded to the new station and Congella daily to finalise accommadation, men being transferred from IFTC to Congella on a daily basis as accommodation became available.
12 Nov 1942 Last party of officers and airmen moved from Clairwood to RAF Congella

Personnel were now employed on various activities at the station and working with detachments of Nos 205, 209, 321 and 413 Squadrons

26 Nov 1942 The Equipment Officer and 27 airmen proceeded to the railhead at Matabatuba to supervise the transfer of equipment to the new advanced base at St Lucia
December
Preparation of the Advanced Base at St Lucia continued throughout the month
