"HAMBLIN, Richard Kenneth, G/C (Royal Air Force) - Station Cranfield.

This officer has been in command of No.62 Operational Training Unit for 18 months.  During this period the Operational Training Unit has been the sole source of supply of Navigators, Radio, to the Royal Air Force, and it has met every requirement of the night fighter Operational Training Unit for crewing up with pilots. This success achieved can only be ascribed to Group Captain Hamblin’s example of calm assurance and his administrative and organising ability."
