RAF Mountain Rescue Service


Mountain Rescue Service badgeFormed officially in 1943, the current organisation is as follows: -

Mountain Rescue Service HQ Flt -          RAF Valley

The service is composed of: -

SQN LDR MRS:                                        A Sqn Ldr,  RAF Valley

FLT CDR LOGS                                        An officer/WO

FLT CDR OPS                                           An officer/WO

CHIEF INSTRUCTOR:                             A Flt Sgt

ASSISTANT CHIEF INSTRUCTOR:      A Sgt

There are four teams in the UK, each led by a Flt Sgt or Sgt and composed of volunteer personnel.

RAF Kinloss MRT

RAF Leeming MRT

RAF Leuchars MRT

RAF Valley MRT
