Mesopotamian Group

Formed Jan 1921 by raising Mesopotamian Wing to Group status. Absorbed into Iraq Command, 1 Oct 1922.

Basrah Group

Formed 1 Oct 1922?,. Disbanded Jan - Jun 1925

No 1 (Indian) Group

Formed 1 Nov 1928 at Peshawar, disbanded by being redesignated No 223 Group on 1 May 1942.  Reformed 1 May 1942 at Lahore as No 1 (Indian) Training Group, no record of disbandment .  Reformed by redesignating No 223 Group at Peshawar on 15 Aug 1945.  Probably absorbed into Royal Indian Air Force.

No 2 (Indian) Group

Formed 1 Oct 1945 at Begumpet, disbanded 1 Jun 1946.  Reformed 1 May 1946 by redesignating No 225 Group at Hindustan, in July it took over No's 226 and No 4 (Indian) Groups.  Took over RIAF training in May 1947, probably absorbed into Royal Indian Air Force.

Formed at Barrackpore on 1 May 1946 by redesignating No 228 Group.  Disbanded 1 June 1947.

Formed at Agra on 1 May 1946 by redesignating No 227 Group.  Disbanded by being downgraded to No 4 (Indian) Wing, within No 2 (Indian) Group on 15 July 1946.
